Zoo Math and Literacy Centers

I am so happy to share with you our Zoo Preschool Literacy and Preschool Math Learning Materials. Similar to our popular Ocean Unit Preschool Learning Materials, our Zoo Unit also contains 30 fantastic and engaging learning activities that your little ones will definitely love!  To give you an idea on what learning activities can be done with these amazing materials below are some of the activities that Vito worked on early this month.

Preschool Learning Zoo Unit Pack

Here’s what to expect from our Zoo Unit Preschool Learning Materials.

ANIMAL EMOTIONS MATCHING GAME

This is one of my kids’ favorite activity.  The child will match the animals' faces (emotions) to the animal emotions mat.  There are 7 animal emotions to play around with this printable pack so I am totally sure that your kids will love this.

FOLLOW THE PATTERN LOGIC GAME

The objective of this learning game is to follow the pattern in the card using some popsicle sticks.  My kids used our Grimm’s Leonardo Sticks in this activity.  My little boy loves selecting the hard ones!

Here’s my eldest trying out a pattern.

ANIMAL TRAIN COLOR MATCHING ACTIVITY

We used our Safari Animals Colored Counters in this activity.  I made these rainbow trains so that the child can play and match colors at the same time.  If colored zoo animal figures are not available, a printable version of colored animals is included in the learning material.

HOW TALL IS THE GIRAFFE? A MEASURING ACTIVITY

Using the snap cubes, the child will measure how tall the giraffes are.  After this activity, we compared the length of our snap cubes, identified which one is the shortest and which one is the tallest.  Vito then arranged the giraffes according to their height with the use of our snap cubes.

CVC RHYMES

This activity has always been a challenge for Vito so I love to include this in our units.  You can start by naming the pictures and identifying which one rhymes with the first picture.  We used magnetic pegs in this activity but any manipulative will do.
